Hi, my mate has just installed a new DH funn hooker set of cranks and matching BB, the BB bearings start to bind if you tighten the preload screw anymore than finger tight and I guarantee it would loosen and fall out unless it had a smear of locktight, any ideas, he has all three 1mm washes on the right hand crank so there is chain clearance through the chain guide .

    Hej Nick,
Looks like the CR-10-HK-A1 that incudes the BB in the kit, Its fitted to an Intense Socom, sorry no pics, but it cant be so hard, the BB is screwed in flush to the frame, he said they went on fine ie not cross threaded, not sure how hard he cranked the BB itself onto the frame but that wouldn't affect how they spin, with zero or very little tension on the screw they spin beautifully.

Faced...not sure, but with a race face BB and another set of cranks- no problems.

    73 mm width

3 spacers as included, instructions say to use two on the right and one on the left however he has all 3 on the right so the chain can clear the chainguide. Even with 1 on the left and two on the right (driveside) it was the same, The bearings do feel rough compared to the raceface when you spin them by hand with the cranks removed.

    Nooooo totally wrong.

a 73mm BB needs one spacer total.

BUT if the chain device is BB mount then no spacers needed.

External BBs are designed to work with about 75mm of width between the cups (75.5mm)

    68 +3 spacers = 68+7.5 = 75.5
    73 +1spacer =73+2.5= 75.5
    73+ a BB mount chain device (2.5mm) = 75.5
