Snow shoes instead of SPD's?!

Not sure which area to post this Hope it's right.......
Went for a Hike / Bike up our local hill called Fyrish yesterday (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fyrish_Monument) There was still a little bit of Snow up there, so thought i would go prepared.
I was wrong - there wasn't a little bit of snow, there was LOTS of snow - in places up the top I was up to my thigh in snow and I'm 6'4"!! It made riding down on the hard packed stuff interesting to say the least! Still I had fun and thats the important bit!
Note my MBUK *buff* lol

I know it's been confirmed as the coldest winter in bloody ages, but aint this also been the longest?
Seriously, i'm properly sick of having to wear long john's at work now. Warm the fuck up or i'm taking up a new hobby of emptying deodorant cans into the atmosphere....0
