I've got some shimano RS10 wheels on a caad9 and after only 60 miles the rear needed truing . Bike shop did this and told me wheel probably bedding in. About 30miles later needed truing again. Different shop and told me the same. Now managed to get about 200 miles from it this time and its gone again and a spoke dropped out aswell. :(
I weigh 85kg and am not a powerful rider and only use the bike recreational.
Are these wheels unsuitable for my weight or is this a common problem. Any sugestions on how to overcome this problem. Thanks

strange. weight shouldnt be the problem at this mileage. did the spoke break or become unscrewed? grab a handfull and check theyre nice a tight. could be low or uneven spoke tension to unscrew. get someone who knows what theyre doing to re tension it.

The spoke unscrewed and bent on its way round, the wheel was re-tensioned last time.

maybe not high enough. the wheel hangs from the spokes at the top to a large extent as it goes round causing the bottom ones to loose some tension, if its too much they can go slack and unwind. i use linseed oil on the threads for rebuilds, it dries afterwards and holds them in place.

Take them to a wheelbuilder who knows what they're doing - higher spoke tension and some threadlock on the nipples.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

+1 ...proper wheel builder will get them sorted ! Some wheels can play up for no reason whilst others stay true for years (my mates keep falling apart though I recon its his riding style lol)
