BB30 stiff?
Hi Guys,
When I tighten my BB30 cranks to the the correct torque, they don't spin very easily (e.g. only a couple of rotations after I spin them, rather than lots). Is this normal? They feel fine when I'm pedalling, but I doubt I'd notice even 10 watts of drag through my legs.
If I massively under-torque them, they spin very well.
Thanks

It's due to the drag of the bearing seals and would be expected with any type of cartridge bearing - they should ease of in time. Don't be tempted to not follow the installation instructions - if you don't tighten the retainer enough it could work out expensive if you damaged the spindle / splines if they work loose whilst riding.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

I can confirm that my SRAM Red BB30 chainset was like that when fitted last year. It's certainly freer now, but like you say, you won't notice anyway.0
