Love that backward facing shot from the fork leg, you can see just how hard the rear suspension works and how much chain slack is generated at times
Also the footage of the fork crown was interesting too, forks were defintely eraning their keep too...

All in a great little video :¬)

I have the full HD version, although normally only shoot at 720p to make use of the 60fps setting. If the 960 can do HD 720 then thats all you really need. 60fps is nice to have if you want to clow anything down, but needed if you dont

Great video - brings back happy memories of Afan. If I get up to half the speed you were going next time I am there then I'll be a happy man.

Can you post a photo of how you mounted the Gopro to view the front fork, that view was superb.

Just bought the 960 from the states, £110 + £12 postage from Jenson USA arrived in 2 days, cheapest in the UK is Jessops or CRC at £200.

Wales in a couple of weeks, hopefully make a vid just as good as yours ;)

    Superb!

I was in Afan last week and was using my GoPro for the first time, feeling very inspired by your video, loved the backwards view, would be great to know exactly how you mounted it?

Also, be great to hear how you process and what format you used, you've really kept the quality!

    p.s. great pace

Hi Ian, Sorry I cant post a photo as my bike is in the shop at the moment and will only have it back at the end of week. However if you look at a photo of an Orange Five, the camera was mounted just above the top of the shock, on the downtube. The mount used was the roll bar mount desinged for motorsport, which works brilliantly on larger tubes and fork lowers. Tip: wrap the tube or fork leg first with a few turns of insulation tape, being slightly soft it allows the mount to 'bite in' to the tape a small amount, making it less likely for the mount to slip, and you dont need to tighten it as much.

    Hope this helps! :D

How are you finding those 5 tens? Are they fairly waterproof?

Great videos as well, really enjoyed them

Yeah they are great, super sticky! They do a good job of keeping the water out, if its really wet out I will put on some waterproof socks which are superb, one of those things that I dont know how I rode in wet weather without.

For the rear shot we used a seat post mount facing backwards with the camera upside down (change the settings on the GoPro to flip the image or do it when you are editing).
I have been using iMovie 11, which is very intuitive and easy to use. I found that importing the image at full resolution (and not allowing iMopvie to optimise it, something it always tries to do) gave better results, and shoot at 720 60fps, I think that is r3 on the camera.
