Didn't you want good puncture resistance? That brings weight, so live with it (or go on a diet).
Sorry I disagree, the gatorskins are the same as the lighter weight, so as everyone says they give the same protection
Same as what? And who's everyone? Not me.

I hope you've bought a lighter helmet, jacket, rucksack/panniers, pump and multitool too, as all that weight saving adds up you know. In fact, a lighter bike would be in order to get to work even earlier ;-)

Yes lighter Helmet this year, I have a Howies super lightweight waterproof (just over 100g - the one you can put in the pocket of a pair of jeans), my Multitool was selected for its weight (as well as function obviously) as was the pump (topeak mini master blaster) and my 'spare' powerlink is on the chain one inner from the normal closure so I don't have to carry extra.
I'm working on the lighter bike, tyres are high on the list...160g saving per end (gatorskin v radonneur) is not to be sniffed at, but thanks for your concern, the other night I saved 3g but swapping the actuating lever on the front brakes between two of the same brand/model just one was lighter than the other (I checked.......make of that what you will!) Oh and its about getting home faster for the same effort......

Oh and I allways have a dump before commuting.
