Chain Tool

Hi just recieved a chain tool from wiggle for use on my Globe Vienna, problem is on the tool it says suitable for 8/9/10 speed chains, and my chains a 7 speed. Will there be any problems using with the 7 speed?

    7 and 8 speed chains are identical

    ahh right, so am i right in thinking a 8 speed quick release link will work fine for a 7 speed
