frame re-spray

I want to get my Dawes Super Galaxy re-sprayed at Armourtex at Hackney, but they will only accept the frame, forks (plus anything else I want re-sprayed) without the other components. Can anyone recommend somewhere that I can take the bike to be taken apart (preferably not too far from Hackney)?

I'd take it apart myself and save paying someone else to do it. For most parts it's only a set of allen keys that are required and if you're not comfortable taking apart the bike then use this as an opportunity to learn
For the bottom bracket and headset you'll need specialist tools and as this is likely to be a one off job then it may be worth taking it to a shop rather than buying the tools.
Good luck either way.0 -
Thanks. I've been quoted £100 to take it apart/put it back together, and a friend now says he will help me do it.0

Good choice with Armourtex; they do a lovely job. They powder-coated a frame for me last summer. I disassembled and re-assembled the bike myself but needed a shop to reinstalling the headset.
What colour have you planned for yours?0 -
Thanks, I'm glad you are happy with what they did for you. My bike is black, and I'll probably either go for that again or racing green.0

Hi there, sorry no pic but they power-coated a steel frame (and fork) of mine in a lovely blue - a great and durable finish. Very happy with their work.
