Shimano triple crankset question

I know, I know it’s a triple but….

Just fitting a new Shimano Ultegra 6603 triple chainset now that I’ve finished grinding my old Tiagra with the Great British winter road grime. :D
I’m wondering though which way round the drive side spacer should go. The Shimano tech docs aren’t too clear on the subject.
It’s the one that’s chamfered on one side and flattish on the other with an inbuilt o-ring.

I’ve currently got the flattish side with the o-ring facing the bottom bracket..any experts out there know if this is correct or indeed does it matter?

yep its that way round on mine. Although i could have fitted it wrong....

its not immediately obvious but pretty sure thats right- flat to BB, chamfer against crank

Thats the correct way. It's on the BB guide I think. Not seen the crank guide but would have thought it should be on that too.

    Thanks folks.

Anything that means less spannering must be good :D

Just got the shifters, bars and cables to change now...started with a 'quick wash' this morning but has developed into a Spring overhaul and upgrade session.

My 105 triple (there's nothing wrong with triples) has a chunky, parallel spacer on the drive side and a fatter, chamfered one on the non-drive side. Don't think either of them involve an o-ring though, so maybe they are different on Ultegra.

    Off to peruse the techdocs.....

Just spotted that one.. I did mean non-drive side for the chamfered spacer.

Yes, the o-ring is kind of set into the spacer...I guess that's where the extra cost for Ultegra came in

According to the techdocs 105 and Ultegra triples are the same in terms of spacers. I'm off to see if my spacers have the o-rings in them!
