BB warranty issue?

Bought MTB sept 2010 and done 700ish miles.
Its used for communting and red route MTBing.
BB has play and is very dry/noisy.
Is this classed as fair wear and tear or could warranty cover it?

    it depends on what is wrong with it.

    i'd say wear and tear will be blamed either way. My std one that came with the bike packed up after a life of muddy singletrack and regular use as it was a cheap one. since upgrading it seems to be spot on so depends what BB it is
