Hi all
I'v just sold my old g.t aggressor and picked up a bargin trail sl3 2010 in red , lovely bike, super light and tight.

ITs been ridden poss 10 miles tops, before i picked it up, couple days on first long run i heard a constant click (sometimes double click) under med loads once per reverloution , not present when gunning it or slow or in v high gear i.e 1s t2,3,4,5 etc.

not present coasting either

Before i fork out to get it checked is there any thing i could test for or has any one have any ideas what it could be.

Last chap bought it online so it may not of had 100% quality set up or hasn't recieved a 6 week check.!!!
Also on the front nrake pad seems a little loose or retaining clip is lose any ideas for a quick fix, the rear pads are in solid..(shimano m486 i think)

read the info in the link in the FAQs. but start with stripping and cleaning the pedals.

I expect where the crank arms attach need some grease.

    ta

Its sooo new its never been cleaned, ive seen bikes in shops dirtier..lol really has done next to no miles

Im hoping its just a few minor set up issues, a bb is unlikely to go in a couple of miles on roads/gravel....

is re grease / quick check something i can look at doing with out ANY specialist knoledge and without specialist tools...(cars not a prob, bike have avoided me so far)

The ES25 BB has a plastic non-driveside collar. The tightening torque is 60Nm which is...tight - really tight.

Get a UN74 and remove the collar and the BB, grease the threads of both ends and also the tapered part of the BB where it touches the inside of the BB shell. Insert the BB and tighten the retaining collar to 60Nm.

My Rize clicked like this almost from new, it's a Cannondale feature.

    Thanks

I may have to get lbs to have a go, i dont think i have the know how . hopefully it wont cost to much.
In ref to returning bike to get sorted, its 2nd hand unfortunately, some one had far to much cash to waste. I think i have the best hard tail sub £450 in the land!! 8miles use . may get me a hardrock sport for tha t!! bike cost £740 new
I also got a lock, lights and sigma computer.

    So no warranty.

Also i have no shock pump for fork, can a strd pump with gauge be used?? there a little soft at mo, after pressing valve..oops

What nicklouse said.. its probably the pedals I've just sorted a clicking like yours by cleaning and rebuilding pedals...that was after replacing the BB, rear wheel, cassette and jockey wheels

    thanks..ill try that

it seems to click only if i pedal/concentrate power on drive side, if i push on the left it doesn't sem to click !

    thanks for pointers,

also ive picked up a half price shock pump, did the trick for air forks.
