Wilier 15 week delivery now it's the wrong colour! Advice?

Hey guys/girls, I'm after a bit of advice or at least some thoughts on the following situation... I'm buying my first road bike and thought I'd go with something around the 2k mark, I decided on the Wilier Izoard XP Veloce. Went to LBS and placed the order on 4th December (hoping I might have it for Xmas) but because I'm only 5"2' I went for the XS which is made to order... I was quoted 6-8 weeks + a couple weeks due to Xmas period.
15 weeks later the bike is finally in the country and will be delivered to the LBS tomorrow... Unfortunately though the distributor (ATB) have told them it's in the wrong colour! There are two colour schemes between the 3 models of Xenon/Veloce/Centaur with the Xenon/Centaur being red-black and Veloce being silver-white (I believe you have the option of either but they are the 'standard' setup) my bike has turned up being red-black. (Exactly what I didn't want!)
I have contacted Consumer Direct who have told me I'm legally entitled to a full refund as the product is not as described, but obviously I've not waited 15 weeks for nothing so I've hinted at the LBS for some kind of compensation in the form of money off. The trouble is I've already had 10% of the original cost due to the LBS having a '10% off everything' weekend (£180 saving on £1800).
I'm not prepared to take the bike as is even though I've already saved on it purely because I've waited soo long for it and of course now there's a c0ck up with the colour, I don't see why I should have to!
What are your thoughts please? Cheers, Pete

Another 10% off or they can keep it.0

I'm not sure I understand what you want us to say. You have three choices. Take the bike anyway, negotiate a further discount or get a refund. What you do is up to you.0

Whilst your contract is with the LBS there is absolutely nothing to stop you picking up the phone to ATB and reading them their palms and asking what they are doing to help their retailer out of this mess. Nothing to stop them couriering a bike across for you (other than not having one in stock in Europe/Asia).
I've dealt with ATB before and found them very, very helpful so can't help wondering whether there's a communication problem between retailer and them.Trail fun - Transition Bandit

Tell them you want a full refund. Faced with the prospect of being stuck with a tiny bike in the wrong colour scheme, they might come up with an attractive counter-offer / further discount.
If you then decide to take the bike you can have a custom respray of your choosing.0 -
If the people that make and supply the "Wilier Izoard XP Veloce" offered you a particular colour in the first place and this influenced your decision but now they can't do it then get a full refund and get another type of bike, from another bike shop
This time of year you might even find a fantastic bargain in a XS size0 -

+1 for the red version.0

Another +1 for the red/white/black Wilier. I come up in hives if I'm near one that isn't in this colour scheme.
I've had to deal with ATB too re a Wilier 'issue' and they were superb. They had a new bike at my door in five working days, plus they upped the gruppo.0 -
You do know that red bikes are faster don't you?Summer - Colnago C40
Race - Wilier Alpe D'Huez
Winter/Commuter - Specialized Tricross0 -
If there had only been the red and black, would you have gone for it?
Know what you mean though - red white and black is to cycles what silver is to cars. Attractive but very, very unimaginative!Faster than a tent.......0 -
+1 for the silver/white. Matter of personal preference ofc, but totally understand the OP not wanting a red bike. I wouldn't want one either. I'm not happy even having a red vacuum cleaner0

I would rather ride a pink drifter than a red wilier!!0

Hey guys thanks for all the responses, after a lot of thinking and moaning I decided to take the bike as is. To be fair once I saw it in the flesh it does look nice and yes, if they never did the silver version in the first place I'd probly still gone for it (besides everything in road cycling appears to have red in it!)
I got another £50 to spend in the shop (I need a lot of new stuff anyway) and a Wilier jersey which is about £60 or something for the hassle which is better than a poke in the eye I guess.
Being my first ever ride on a road bike I went flying around the town for half hour and I can't believe how quick it is, the roads I used to struggle up on the mountain bike I'm cruising up now, good times
Cheers ppl!0 -

That Wilier Jersey will make you go faster anyway !!A Brother of the Wheel. http://www.boxfordbikeclub.co.uk
