Has anyone seen any Milan San-Remo odds?

My apologies for being so stupid, but I've never taken the time to understand betting.
Does that table mean that Cavendish and Haussler are pretty evenly matched?

I would have thought that Farrar would have been top this year.

Indeed. You wonder how well you'd do if you only picked the odds favourite for everything.

Hushovd looks worth a punt at 18:1

He's lead out for either Farrar or Haussler surely?

Has anyone seen Oscar Freire this year? Anyone? No?

    I rest my case.

Gilbert for me, with an attack on the Poggio and holding them off on the descent.

I am sure several were saying the same thing last year with MSR :P

That was kinda my point

It's like he races with a Harry Potter invisibility cloak... you don't see him for months on end, then he suddenly pops up 50 metres from the finish line at MSR or the Worlds. Form doesn't mean a thing when it comes to Freire.

Would that be the same invisibility cloak he shares with Menchov?

Can you imagine what Sky would do with a rider like Freire- genius, forgetful, chaotic, untidy.
A rider who can win whilst living in complete harmony with his inner chimp.

    .

Yup, but Menchov's cloak keeps getting tangled in his spokes, making him fall off. (As an aside, during last year's TdF, L'Equipe ran an article titled "Menchov - The Phantom Menace")

I faintly remember Boonen talking about Freire "playing with the pedals" behind the peloton in Tireno last year.

I've just bet a quid each way on Flecha and Bling Matthews at 100/1...you never know..
  • Weather forecast appears to be cloudy, with a possibility (20%) of showers late afternoon.

I think Cavendish certainly favours the hotter weather.

    Difficult one to call.

    PTP pick is Thor
Also have money on Haussler and EBH as an outsider (just think the Sky squad for this event looks pretty strong).

Ive got Farrar 11/1. Was looking at someone like De Ghent and Chavanel as daft outsiders too (200/1) but didnt bother.
