Commute from Kings Cross to Canary Wharf

Anyone know of a decent route to and from Kings Cross to Canary Wharf?
I really don't want to take the tube and would prefer to ride. I will probably have to use my Brompton as that can be taken on the train with few issues.
Any towpaths? Along the river? Main roads along bus lanes?
I looked on the route section and there appeared to be only one route.
Or... go nuts and ride the 30 or so miles each day each way from Welwyn Garden City to Canary Wharf?

Canal goes all the way from round King's Cross to Limehouse, which is minutes from C Wharf.
Suspect it might be a bit 'interesting' riding back in the evening though0 -

apart from the tunnel between colebroke row and rodney street, although that bit of city road is not too bad to ride on.
I would head to the A13 and use CS3 if the thought of canals at night in hackney gives you the creeps

Hi, I too live in WGC and am planning to do some cycling to Canary Wharf.
Did you find the best route from Kings Cross? I have been using the canal but am slightly concerned about safety in the evenings.
Have you also cycled from WGC to Canary wharf? If so which route did you take? I was looking at the possibility of going to Hertford and picking cycling along the river lea all the way to limehouse.0 -
That route would be fine; the main prob would be slippy surface at this time of year.
I once came off on an icy stretch, straight into the Leeds canal. Thankfully the bike didn't follow me in, and I managed to struggle out quickly.Commute: Langster -Singlecross - Brompton S2-LX
Road: 95 Trek 5500 -Look 695 Aerolight eTap - Boardman TTe eTap
