There was one guy in a suit with it, but that was it.
Then some fat guy turned up in a transit with a trailer, took the nose cone off the car with an allen key then just pushed it into the trailer.
Aren't F1 cars worth millions?! (I know its a few years old now, but still must be worth a few bob)0 -
When I was at uni, I saw students who somehow managed to afford rx-8's and r34 skylines... but an F1 car? That's just taking the p1ss :P0

My friend at uni drives an RX-8, he is only 20 as well. Not fair0 -
It's mine0

dont forget Red Bull do have cars in other classes.
was it really an F1 car?
or if it is what year is it?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

It looks a bit small to be an F1 car to me. Not that I've ever seen one not on TV.It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Dunno, looks about the right size for an F1 car to me. Seen a few of them at various exhibitions over the years. There's even a picture of me sat in the old black and gold Lotus JPS car somewhere.
So, did the police turn up and dust it for fingerprints to try and find out which drunk student stole it on the way home from a bender?0 -

Hmm now you have said that I am doubting if it is an F1 car, that was just my immediate though, totally forgot red bull had cars in other classes.
Just tried googling some of the F1 cars, and cant seem to find one that matches as well, all seem to have different front ends.0 -
Well it has this years new tyres (Pirelli) and Infiniti stickers so I'd imagine its this years, or an older model 'renewed'.0
-
The rear wing looks to low and flat to be an F1 car to me..... not sure though....0

its an 08 red bull. the last one before the rule change
it is an f1 car, but it could just be a rolling chassis. they are about 20k and come up for sale in autosport every so often. might be used for simulations or demos or something like that.
theyd have updated the livery to promote their new sponsors regardless of the year, just good business0 -
agreed, its the RB4 2008 model which DC droveCrafted in Italy apparantly0

posh uni
few weeks before crimbo they had the virgin f1 car outside, suprisingly enough, the virgin gym in Rugby.
flanked with walls of meat in suits and earpieces, the fluffies handing out virgin membership details were nice though0 -
Hmmm does look like an RB4 with updated sponsors etc., but seems to have a slightly different section above the engine.

Wing and nose dont look very F1 to me....
Pretty cool though....
As for being stolen.. those things are hard enough to even pull away in... I doubt a drunk student would be able to even steal it.....I like bikes and stuff0 -
looks like a promo mock up one, bet it doesn't have an engine in it0
-
-
I'm guessing it could be just a mock up! It was pushed into a trailer by a fat bloke, but I'm guessing this would still be possible with an engine as they weigh hardly anything anyway.
the more I look at it, it does look a bit small for an F1 car.0 -
It cant be this or last years as it has the dropped back end, not the extra capacity fuel tank.I like bikes and stuff0
-
It's parked in a car park on campus at the University of Warwick today - must be doing some sort of tour.
Show cars are usually made up from a bits box of left over stuff, and don't have engines in. As others have pointed out, they're usually updated with the current livery and tyres to reflect current sponsors.
It may be that in 2008 the fin on the engine cover was only used at certain races, and the engine cover they had kicking about when they built it into a show car was from a race where they didn't use it.0 -

Myabe not, we looked over the damaged F1 car at the science meuseum in london the other week and I was suprised at how small that was. All real parts too, built from crash damaged bits and bobs.Advocate of disc brakes.0 -
Looked the right size for an F1 car to me - I've seen them in the flesh (both racing and show cars) quite a lot. I was also surprised by how small they are the first time I saw one.0
