I am gradually attempting to bring life in to my trusty 2005 Hard Rock Sport and would like to replace the worn stock RST fork which has now popped. Is it a case of just buying a new 100mm fork and plugging it in or is some other piece of of kit needed to make it fit?

Thanks

well the crown race will need swapping over. a new star nut will be required. and the steerer cutting to length.

if used then the SFN may be present but make sure the steerer is long enough.

then if the headset needs replacing then crown race does not need swapping over but headset removal and installation tools will be needed. a change in headset stach hieght will require a different steerer length or more/less spacers.
