I was putting this bike together in the shop yesterday, and really liked it, I hadn't planned to buy a new bike! After riding it to check everything was working, I thought, I have to have it, so here it is!
I've subtly upgraded it with bits I already had from upgrading my Fuel EX to 10 speed. I also prefer shimano stuff and as this came with an 8 speed Sram setup. It now has a Deore XT rear derailleur, 9 speed chain and cassette, and deore levers.
Rides really really well, and for hardtails, bigger wheels are the way to go!

Cheers, I thought so. I just got back in from a 30 mile ride this evening, and I feel like I can actually take on obstacles faster than I can on my Full susser, not quite as comfortable over the rought stuff, but it's still very good!

    BIg fan.
Think i'm going to consider a 29 when I buy my next frame. Always fancied a fisher, yours looks sweet.

Do it, you won't regret it! I thought it was a bit of a gimmick before riding one, but it genuinely does work, and it really does handle well! Garry Fisher has bikes at all price points now, well worth considering!

Excellent. I am really keen on this, been looking at one around this price for future purchasing wish lists. Stupid question but how do the forks feel on a 29er?

The forks feel like any other fork, even the basic Toras on my bike actually work really well, work just as well as my recons, but a bit heavier. But at this price point the forks are decent!
