Gilbert takes the V after Amador and Malacarne, who had been away since KM7, decided they'd rather ague with each other than win the race

    Amador seems like a bit of a character. Spent as much time shaking his head and making faces as he did pedalling.

    Ah no, Gesink loses to Evans. Basso well up there. Lots more top riders are actually racing like Contador this year.

    This is turning out to be a terrific race. Far better than the ITT dominated Paris-Nice.
