No rust really either, needs new tyres really as the originals have perished bt i'll have too wait for a delivery from CRC.

Just wish I could find out the date though, I'm thinking late 80's but the gods at Retrobike are away at the moment

It looks like a nice bike. I've got an old Claud Butler I use for commuting and winter rides.

Put it on the Special Interests forum, I'm sure someone will know it's age.

Nice bike and it looks like its in great nick.

I did a bit of googling and Mr Tall on singletrackworld.com says c1986 for the Scorpio.

I had a Dawes very similar to yours. Bought new in 1988 IIRC.

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

Yes at a local auction, there were several bikes there but most were BSO's.They went for around £20-£30 each.I have in the past bought wrecks for a £1 cleaned them up and sold them on Ebay for £40-£50  The best was an old ladies Raleigh from the thirties that went for £95. I only do it though when I can get said bikes for under a fiver and I know that theres a profit to be made. The older the better usually. However this is for me so I don't mind paying more.To much hassle to do it all the time though and I have had losses.

Shim Exage bits, so I'd agree with a late 80's date. It's in great condition & at £60 a bargain too.

Excellent stuff - that's really cool. I like.

Now you need to track down some 1980s German team kit.

I bought a 1973 Peugeot 5 speed racer for £40 at auction last year, sourced some period tyres and bar tape and now use it as winter trainer. Took it to Skyride London last year and was offered £250 by a Peugeut collecter as the oldest he had was 1979. I didn't sell as it is identical to my first real racer i had as a teenager. :D
