Double page interview with Victoria Pendleton in today's Times. No bread or baps on show this time  . A very close close-up pic of her face though.

The interview covers her preparation for the Olympics - 500 days remaining. Her battle with Anna Meares - no love lost here and Guo Shuang. Rather b1tchy comments from VP or did the Owen Slot (interviewer) get the wrong end of the stick or slightly exaggerate to generate something that is not there? VP states several times she actually hates cycling but she happens to be good at it  . I love it but 'am crap at riding a bike very fast. She seems a little ungrateful for the talent she has got. Although she seems pleased when her 'sense' regulator kicks in telling the reader that cycling around a circle with no brakes for a living beats most jobs .......... Her preparation this year is to 'bulk up' ie get more muscular ....... lose some of her curves :? .

She's 30 as well  .
Life is like a roll of toilet paper; long and useful, but always ends at the wrong moment. Anon.
Think how stupid the average person is.......
half of them are even more stupid than you first thought.

Her comments after the Manchester round of the world cup weren't the best to be honest. After she false started in the team sprint she seemed to blame Shanaze Read's lack of experience for their poor performance. She also said she looked forward to riding with Jesse Varnish in the team sprint after the British record opening lap she put in at the same competition which was a bit presumptious as well as unfair to Read.

Also, Boardman used to say exactly the same sort of thing about his dislike of cycling.

I've heard VP talk about going touring with her Dad as a kid. She often seems to suggest that she does genuinely enjoy cycling.

Maybe when you do it for a job that starts to ebb away.
