More out of curiosity than necessity at this stage, but the BB cups are printed with "Do Not Disassemble". Why is this?

Because then you will realise that they are serviceable and you wont buy new ones.

Seriously? The Youtube vids I've seen suggest it's a fairly simple job with the right tools.

With the right tools as you say. How many of us have them. The plastic sleeves in the bearings are rather soft and damage easily. Supporting the cups to remove the bearings is not easy either. It is actually stripping them down that is the hard part. If you did that successfully then you should be able to rebuild them OK.
Nothing is difficult on Youtube.

This, just make sure you don't break any of the plastic seals.

TBH with Ultegra BB's available for less than £20 if you shop around why would you bother stripping and servicing? I changed mine over last season(after 5000 miles) and it took me 7 mins to do from start to finish, probably less time it takes to watch the YouTube vids.

Betd and others do a bearing replacement service and if you can lose the plastic sleeves the better as you can then run a bigger bearing.

its only 1mm internal diameter difference, and the bigger bearing isnt a standard size so your choice of quality/supplyer are very very limited.

    many people do them.

Enduro, token even the ones in the sram BBs dont use inserts and they are fine with a 24mm ID
