Fox Vanilla R, left leg leaking oil! Help!

Was on a ride this afternoon and towards the end I noticed that the forks didn't feel right. On closer inspection I noticed that there is oil leaking from around the dust seal!

I've had a look at the manual on how to clean dust seals but not sure if they are the problem.

I'm thinking of taking it to the LBS but would rather sort it myself.

Anybody experienced this before or have an idea what the problem might be?

They are 2009 Fox Vanilla R.

Cheers, J.

Probably due a service, you'll need a seal kit and some fork oil (7.5wt) and some float fluid.

Guides are easy enough to find online
  • wipe it off so it doesn't hit the rotor. My vanilla 32 have been leaking oil from the coil side for about two years, they still work perfectly :)

Thanks for that revellrider, I have looked at some of the guides and they're a he'll of a lot easier to follow than Rockshox! Looks like I'll have to get the oil and seals from the US though as I can't find any UK websites that sell them?

iwearshorts: Its the other leg, not the callipar leg and since it's leaked the rebound of the fork has virtually stopped all together! It feels very sluggish!

    Thanks for that folks, J.

Thanks for that 'Northernmonkey', I've just been looking on Mojo's website and priced up a dust kit, sachet and big bottle of fork fluid for about the same price!
