ok, me and a couple of friends are up for a bit of cycling. we've done the bristol to bath cycle path last week.

I was thinking of pill or portishead but can't even remember where that starts? River avon???

any other paths we can do?

As much as I lke mud we'll have to avoid it as one of them lives in a flat so cleaning the bike after will be a bit difficult.

also maybe a pub or two on route?

thanks

You could try Pill to Portishead via Caswell Lane which takes in great backwater pub The Black Horse pub in Clapton in Gordano, then you can drop down into Portishead and if you fancy adding some distance head along coast to Clevedon - preferably linking through Clevedon Court woods some nice single track up there and avoids roads. The woods do drain very well so you should stay fairly clean, few pubs in Clevedon; or better still carry on from Clevedon across moors to one of my favourite quirky pubs called The Blue Flame which is worth a sup in - has big back garden for bikes or leave them out front and sit in the sunshine on benches.

You can put some miles on if you're up for a good few hours riding.

You can do the whole Route 10 around Bristol though to do it in one day is a bit much, around 80 miles. I rode some of it this week and took in Limeburn Hill and wento onto Pensford then Saltford and back into town on the A4. It is signed but helps to have a map or GPS for those times when you aren't too sure.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Pubs - in Portbury, Clevedon and route takes you past the Blue Flame (weird looking place!) Finishing at the Cottage by Bristol docks.
