Hey all i'm in sumwhat of a quandry, i turn 30 in August and am still undecided what to do in celebration of this milestone. So far i've got three options
1/ have a blow out over a weekend and spend a fortune and have nothing to show for it
2/ Go climbing in the Dolomites
3/ Go on a riding holiday of some sort maybe in spain or the alps
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of riding in spain? with costs, accomodation etc etc
I'd rather do something that i'll rememeber for the rest of my life also i think if i take the biking option i'd have a good chance of a few mates joining me

What if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? What if everything you've ever wanted cost you everything you've ever achieved? Would you still go there?

Hi Muttly1981, where we live in Sardinia you can combine Alpine riding
with the Med's best sea and beaches
and climbing
We are currently writing a mountain bike guide to the island, we have an active local asssociation "MountainBike Ogliastra" http://www.mountainbikeogliastra.it and by August the new (5th edition) Pietra di Luna climbing guide will be published. Contrary to what people think, there's good climbing in the summer in Sardinia, you just go high up in the shade, as you can see from the vids of MTB'ing and climbing you can find at:-

Thanks for the links the terrain looks stunning and definately looks like a place i'd like to visit in the future but the flights are a little expensive from the quick search i've done. The annoying thing is the more i look the more destiations keep springing up. It's looking more like a mountain bike specific holiday
Swiss Alps (stunning)
Tenerife (have friends in Santa Cruz so free accomidation)
Benalemadena (Costa nightlife and beaches + have a friend with a villa 30 miles away)
Andorra (i own a Commencal so she may want to go home)
One of my friends mentioned Cyprus but i've been many times and it's very expensive thesedaysWhat if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? If you don't want to spend a fortune go to Hungary. There are nice trails around the capital and you can do climbing too.
Check out mtbtourhungary.com they offer organized rides and other programmes.0
