Epic Cycles. Not too far from you.
I'm at that difficult age... somewhere between birth and death.

    +1 for Chris at Epic.
  • I've heard nothing but excellent comments about Adrian Timmis at cadence sport. I'm booked in to go and see him next week so I'll tell you then I guess!!

Edit: I'm also travelling a ~ 200 mile round trip to see this guy so he better had be :D

The difference is that Adrian offers moulded footbeds and cleat shims if needed. That's on top of perfecting saddle height and reach dynamically using lasers.
The overall package has made a massive difference to my riding, not least as he discovered I had a 1cm leg length discrepancy He's not used by several top pros Inc. Dean Downing for nowt!

I'm sure Epic are fine but their service will not be as bespoke as Adrian's.
  • After reading the recommendations on here and doing a bit of research myself,I took the plunge and went to see Adrian the other week.
    I can't really praise him enough !
He was extremely thorough and professional, got me in a much better/comfortable position, took into account my leg length discrepencies, fitted me for some very comfortable footbeds, fitted shims and wedges.
All in all I was there for over 3 hours and I already starting to feel and see the benefits a couple of weeks later. Money well spent.

As well as all that he's a real nice bloke who makes a decent cup of tea !
  • That's excellent news. Looking forward to next week all the more now - cant beat a good cup of tea

An A1 service by a top fellow that has has made a significant improvement to my position on the bike. +1 from me!

Sounds great, been for a ride with him on cannock chase and he was riding his old Raleigh Dyna Tech mtb.

The custom foot beds make a big difference?
It’s the most beautiful sport in the world but it’s governed by ***ts who have turned it into a crock of ****.

Yeah, can't ride without them now!

If I try without them it feel horrendous!
  • +1 for Adrian

I have just come back from a bike fit with him - was there three hours and it was fantastic, I could really tell the difference on the turbo, can't wait to go out tomorrow and see how it goes on the road.

Really buzzing from the experience, has sorted a few niggles and also my previously very bad position.

That's one thing I'm looking forward to finding out - just how bad my position is currently

For those of you that have had a bike fit - do you think this could still be a valuable process even if you don't do it on your own bike, i.e. do it on a trainer ? I work abroad so when in the UK I don't have my bike with me - but when home I am not too far from Adrian.

    Cheers.

Yeah, get measured, get them written down and translate to your own bike. Adrian will show you the best way to do this. It works a treat.

It's quite reasonable too. Might have a look after Christmas, get comfy on the new bike.
