I think that's the one, yes. Am downloading the ITV4 coverage from cyclingtorrents.nl now to see exactly how it panned out. The naiviity of Team Sky in glorious technicolour. Let's hope they hedge their bets this year!
Marginal gains?.. I love the thinking but, despite phil and paul telling us that "the computer says this.. the computer says that" and everyone training by numbers these days, it's nice to see that it doesn't always add up.0 -
The way I saw it, Team Sky controlled the race early on dropping Armstrong (who until then was a major threat) and keeping the pace high. Wiggins and Lofkvist were both looking good on the lower slopes of Morzine Avoriaz, it was only in the last few km that Wiggins cracked. Understandable if he failed to predict that one of Bertie's unheralded domestiques would suddenly be driving at the front so hard that team leaders would be getting shelled out the back. Lots of lessons learnt that day, not least of which that the return to (relatively) cleaner racing of the year before had been very short lived...0

Wiggo finished 1.45 back from Schleck and is pretty much testament to his efforts on the lower slopes. Have just watched the highlights and, I must say, a very entertaining stage indeed. There's nothing quite like a few 10% slopes to see who's got legs.
Lance had an off a few K's before the first climb of the day and had to be paced back to the peloton by a few of the RS boys.. if he hadn't had that extra exertion before the mountains started, who's to say he wouldn't have been right up there at the finish!?.. lady luck indded!!
Andy Scheck though. Quality rider. I reckon it's his this year.0 -
Classic stage. I remember pointing at the television and laughing at Wiggins.
It was the day that JV smiled.0 -
