Chris King crown race fit FSA headset ?

Hi,

Does anyone know whether a Chris King 1 1/8" crown race will work with a FSA headset, specifically the Orbit MX ?

I know from another forum that the Chris King crown race works with a Cane Creek S3 headset but I intend to get an FSA Orbit.

The reason I ask is because I need to gain a few extra mm's to make a set of forks closer to my required A2C length on my 29er build, and I know that I can get a Chris King +5 crown race that will add an extra 5mm.

The forks I will be getting are 465mm A2C but my frame (Soul Cycles Dillinger) was designed around 475mm A2C, so adding the Chris King +5 will mean I only fall short by 5mm rather than 10mm

Thanks,

Luke.

Check the bearings required for each. If they are the same chances are it will work.

and as it is CK the likelihood is zero.

Good idea but having trawled through the Chris King website I can't seem to find the spec for the bearings used.

The FSA uses 36* angled cartridge bearings and from what I can tell the Cane Creek S3 mentioned above uses the same, so I'm guessing the Chris King must be the same.

Crown race might still not match up with the cup. You could just buy the whole CK thing, seems like a lot to pay for 5mm though.
