favourite: sound of silence on a country lane, meaning no traffic
least: that horrible sound you get in a race when someone crashes behind you, bike frames hitting the asphalt, the calls of 'easy' by surrounding riders etc... what's worse is seeing someone crash in front of you in a race and knowing that you won't be able to avoid it.0 -
Worst noise is creaking bottom bracket.
Can't argue with your favourite noise.0 -

Favourite: the moment's silence before I know the dutch oven I've performed on the missus is about to hit home.
Least favourite: the moody silence for the next twenty minutes.0 -
Favourite (in this context at least) - the near silent whirr of the gears & wheels as I fly effortlessly along at speeds in the mid-20s, and the satisfying clunk of a gear change that involves neither chain rubbing nor second attempts to get it to drop into gear.
Worst - the one that goes swishuwishuwishuwishuwishuwishuwish when you realise that a tyre is rapidly deflating and that enjoyment is on hold for a while.
There are better noises in this life, but it's a bike forum, so I won't add the bark of a BDA-powered Escort on full chat as 'satisfying', esp if it's one that I built myself.0 -
Favourite: The click of dropping down a gear whilst scalping someone during SCR in the morning.
Worst: Jonathon Davies's rugby commentary. You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quin.0 -
Favourite: Squeaky sand (you know the kind that squeaks when you walk on it?)
Worst: The click of a car door opening just yards in front of you....
