Carrera Fury 2009 - Upgraded

Just spent the winter trawling eBay, CRC, and Wiggle to upgrade my Carrera Fury. TBH there was nothing much wrong with it, but the new bits just make it so much better. Can't believe the difference between SRAM X5 and X9, and the Quad brakes are astonishing compared to the Juicy 3's.
Upgrades:
Quad Dime XC Pro Front and Rear. One piece calliper with radial master cylinders.
Shimano RT-76 XTR discs 180 and 160. Floating discs with alloy centres.
Brakes re-bled with Castrol Dot 4 racing fluid.
Planet X white stem.
Ritchey black and white grips.
FSA white seatpost.
Fizik Pave gel seat.
SRAM X9 2010 Derailleurs and shifters
Sram Avid Matchmakers for a single bar clamp. Works perfectly with the Quads.
Truvativ GXP1 crankset. (Rebranded for Cannondale Truvativ Stylo)
SRAM PG-971 chain.
Jagwire cable kit
Wellgo white platform pedals (soon to be changed to DMR V12’s)
Schwalbe Crazy Bob 2.35’s for general urban fun.

No, I don't mainly ride "urban" but I've got these on for commuting a good mixture of tarmac and loose paths. Mountain tyres get put on for "mountain biking". :roll:0 -

 Apologies! My mistake, all clean and shiney with Urban tyres..
How much off road riding do you do on the bike?
Finding it fun keeping up and riding quicker than many people on more expensive bikes? I do0 -
Very nice!
Same seat post as me
I don't know if I can bring myself to upgrade the groupset - I might just save for a new bike! I had my head turned at a recent demo day where I tried a Blur LTc, ASR5 and an Orange Five 8)
Although, I still love the Fury; it gets used every week in the peaks and it handles everything I've thrown at it.0 -
looking good, I wish I had the money to do some proper upgrading like you. The brakes are annoying and so are the wheels. The Juicys are ok performance wise but they need lots of maintenance. I knocked the wheels out of true straight away. About 3 months riding and the rear's out.
good work0
