been looking at the boardman carbon which i can get for £900 with a discount from halfords......read plenty reviews and main concern is halfords themselves rather than the bike........seems to be a bit of snobbery about this bike but i,m interested in thoughts on comparisons based on quality
planet x sl carbon is £999 although that would be a blind buy...............

focus cayo from wiggle...agaon a blinf internet buy

i appreciate both co,s have returns policies so would liek to hear from anyone who ridden any of these bikes or all of them and can compare...

cheers

If you're not limiting yourself to Carbon Framed bike, have alook at the Bike of the Year 20011 supplement in April's Cycling Plus which reviews 9 Aluminium framed machines at under £1000. You also get a review of over 20 bikes between £1000-£2000.
    Happy hunting

Just to add to your choices, is there any reason why you haven't considered ribble cycles? They don't have the best press in the world but they offer more choice than all of those you've just mentioned what with the stealth, sportive, gran fondo, evo etc etc.

Worth a thought, and if you're not too far you can visit the shop so no blind buying...
  • Depending where you are. Geoffrey Butler in Croydon stock Planet X, when I was last in they had a few in of various sizes.
