I went out my my 'seasoned' road biker friends who showed me a thing or two! Certainly an eye opener compared to MTBing, exposing my lack of fitness over the 46 mile bumpy route. Overall she is a flyer, and loved drafting creating some serious speed on some downhills.0

Having seen one of these in the flesh I can say they look awesome!
Whats the frame and fork weight like?0 -
I don't get this frame at all.
Supposedly aero but with external cable routing and heavy too. And IMO incredibly grim looking.
Hope it rides well!0 -

Any more grim than an S2? I believe the C1 has internal cabling which can be picked up for £1250.00
I don't like the fact you have to cut the seat post to length though!0 -
A lot more grim than an S2, which isn't a looker... It looks, in fact, like the mess left after someone left a S2 in the autoclave too long.0
-
On my scales it weighs 7.2kgs. It rides very well, very quick.
It looks much better in the flesh! I would like some aero wheels now though.
BTW - the C1 frame is around £1800 you can get it on eBay for £1250.0 -
To be honest like most bikes designed in North America by North Americans it's pretty ugly: Cervelo (although they not in the same league as what follows IMO), Litespeed, Cannondale, Specialized, Scott, Trek, Quintana Roo. From frame design/shape to paint scheme's.
It's all in your face branding and over-thought gimmicky shapes, go faster stripes and 'aero-flow' colour dashes. *feeling ill*
It does raise a smile when NapoleonD is slating this bike when he's owned and proudly displayed on this forum bikes from 3 of the above brands let alone the infamous love-out with Caad9's. (it's not a dig mate, just an amusing observation).
I'm sure you Archon is fabulous and my god is that one hell of a reach you have there. Enjoy.0 -
Ive also owned 3 Spesh's!!! :oops:0

I guess some love it some hate it. I'm sure they're all great bikes nevertheless.0

Regarding the stem - its a 130mm, and I think I am stretched a bit using it. I think I need to go down to a 100mm0

I'm with you there tbh, the cervelo was no looker but it was a good frame. The litespeed was beaten with the ugly stick and handled like a barge but was a smooth ride. The quintana roo is hideous but was cheap! I only own the QR still. Unfortunately.
I think that there are a lot of ugly frames out there at the moment either in terms of actual shape or the graphics.0 -

I cannot believe my eyes....
My Cervelo S2, slated as being ugly!....
My arse!
I love it, anyway... Looks and ride
White definitely makes a huge difference, too.Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -

christurbo - how do you find the prologo choice saddle ? been offered for a decent price and fancy trying it out.0
-
1000km's.... wow.
I'd be doing an impersonation of a slug after about a quarter of that I reckon.
You still look fresh-ish.
Well done.0 -

It is light, comfortable, and looks the business.
I love my marmite bike - it looks much better in the flesh, and gets ALOT of attention from the roadies around here.. [positive may I add!].
BTW - I didnt do the 1000 world record. My model of bike was used to do it.0 -
Updated the pics in the original post to pics of my actual bike - not ones copied from the net!
