I have been given £500 worth of halfords vouchers, plan to add a couple of hundred. Anyone purchased any of the latest hardtails From Halfords.

No, but I know a lot about them. Very hard to beat for the money, especialyy the Fury and Boardmans.

Though for 500, clearance GTs should be looked at too.

I've just got a a voodoo wang from halfords and I'm very happy with it, excellent spec for the money. As supersonic says the carrera fury and boardmans are decent bikes.

I fancied a Voodoo Wanga because of the chromoly frame, I fancied something different. You could see if you could get one (not many left I don't think) or go with the fury, when I was there they looked badass.

  • Thanks thats a big help, liked the fury also the Voodoo Hoodoo and the Bokor, does anyone know if Voodoo have changed to matt paint to sort the problems out they had with paint chipping.

Double postage mate, people will get back to you in time.

Not sure about the paint, to be honest though what's the big deal about the paint chipping, it's not like it's going to cause you any problems to your riding. If you were that bothered you could get it resprayed at a later date. I got my bike because it has some great components for the money and I wanted the chromoly frame.

I'd just head to Halfords and check out the Carrera's, GT's, Boardmans and Voodoo's and see what you like the feel of. Remember you're spending £500 so they should be open to helping you out.
