xt shadow adjustment

Hi all

Any tips on rd adjustment? my bike is 6 months old from new and will not stay in the lowest gear, could it just be cable stretch?

    If you pull on the cable will it stay there? If so just take up the stretch with the barrel adjuster.
    Will also show as the cable going slack when in the highest gear.
