Choosing between a rockrider 8.1+ '11 specialized sport disc

These seem to be the best bikes I have found. My budget is around £450 if anyone has any other suggestions as well!
Basically, I want to know whether the 2011 sport disc is any better than the 2010 one, and if it is a good bike in general. I have seen that it has an uprated fork compared to the 2010 model, not sure if there is any real world difference? Any other major differences between the '10 and '11 model that you think are worth upgrading to?
I can get the 2011 Specialized bike for £415, and so its well below budget, the 8.1 is £499 so quite a lot above budget! Do you think it is worth spending that extra 85 quid? Also, I saw today somewhere that you can get the 2010 rockrider model for £449 because the 2011 model is coming out soon, does anybody know if this price reduction is in store, because it is not on the decathlon website?
Sorry about this long rambling post, it's just a lot of money for me, a student with limited means of income, so I want to know as much as possible before i buy!

Easily worth it. Much better parts in just about every area.
The 2011 Sport has a better fork than the 2010, but the Tora on the Rockrider blows it away. As do the disc brakes, drivetrain etc.0 -
The only difference between the Rockrider 8.1 from 2010 to 2011 is the colour scheme.
The 2011 looks very nice IMO.
Here is a sneaky peek.
I'm not sure if the price of £449 is a national price or a local price? It may be that Lakeside (the stoire offering it at £449) has excess stock and want it all gone to make way for the 2011 model.
Either way its still worth the extra £85 over the Spesh. Not to mention the extra long warranty of 2 years on parts0 -
Thanks for the info people. I'm going to Decathlon Lakeside today to try out the 8.1 L, but there is a Halfords next door, and supposedly their Carrera Fury MTB is good aswell? Would you still recommend the 8.1 though? The fury is £549, but supposedly it is in a sale sometimes or you can ask for money off? Plus the 8.1 is £449 atm as Wappygixer said, so its gonna be a very large stretch.0
