As for claim, had and accepted offer for personal injury, but insurance company still not even discussing the bike side of it, despite a solicitor dealing with it. Solicitor thinks that they may be waiting for the court case to resolve before doing anymore as it may effect the outcome of any payment made.

Make sure that they don't forget !!

A couple of years ago, a truck rear ended me whilst I was driving and my bike was in the boot. Result, severe whip lash and a bent frame. After about three months of wranglings, I got a settlement figure from the other party's insurance company. When I said, yes, that's fine for the personal injury, but what about the cost of replacing the bike, they said something along the lines of "oh yeah, we forgot about that" !!!!

Keep on top of the slippery b*stards !!!

7 months isn't bad. I'm now upto 3 years, and just spent the last two months fighting over costs for a visit to a pain consultant to get a long term 'pain plan' sorted. Just been paid out expenses, so not out of pocket now.

Drives you insane the red tape.

Final settlement for bike claim sent to Solicitor today. I've got the full value back for what I paid for the bike + the wheel upgrade.

So all settled, finally and I've not ended up out of pocket either.

The driver that hit me has been to court now and pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, last letter I had from the police said he was now awaiting sentencing.

Just glad I can draw a line under it all TBH.
