Morning All,

I need some help fixing a scratch / scuff on the side of my car. Some w**ker this morning decided to scrape his car down the side of mine and then drive off. I wasn't about at the time so no idea who it was.

Im not sure exactly how bad it is as the car is also very dirty but its definitely going to need a bit more than a spit and polish. Im hoping it can be fixed without needed a trip to the body shop.

I've never done this kinda thing before so anybody got any advise on what products to use, how to fix it.. etc...

many thanks

Depending on the depth of the scratches then you might be able to restore it with some colour restore polish from the orange H shop.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Depending on size/depth etc, try TCut. If you have a dent then you need to seek professional help. TCut only sorts out scuffs and very light scratches.

There are no dents just spoilt paint work. I'll pop to Halfords at lunch and get some T-Cut. But the damage looks quite bad, if its only for light scratches it might not fix it entirely.

Any idea what with would cost to re-paint? its an area about 10cm by 10cm square or would they have to paint the whole panel?

If you don't know what you're doing with tcut, don't start using it on your car, very easy to make it worse. TBH I'd suggest before you do anything else go to an accident repair specialist and see what they think, I was really skeptical of these but they sorted out a creased panel with paint damage on my dad's car and though you can still see damage, you really need to know where to look. They normally do the whole panel, especially if it's metallic paint. Used to be 100 quid a panel as a rule of thumb.
