Are there any exercises/stretches I can do to get lower on the bike?
I rarely get on the drops and after 20 miles on the hoods at the weekend I found my back was a bit achey.
Thanks
J.

The back will just take a lil practice.
However, streching the hamstrings and getting them more flexible (i.e. streching them as often as possible, say, 2-3 times a day every day) will help.
Now of course you'll get plenty of advice suggesting you raise your handlebars, or get a shorter stem etc....0 -
Thanks Rick.
This has only occurred this year, so I'm thinking that I am just a bit out of shape (more than usual)! but I am prepared for the deluge of advice regarding bike setup/position!
Thanks for the help.

try a proper bike fit, also do your hip flexors, hamstrings and glutes.0

Cyclists get big leg/thigh muscles but because they never fully extend those legs, they also get very inflexible, so it's worth keeping ontop of it for that real pro position.0 -
Thanks for the help everyone, it's much appreciated.
I'm doing the Cheshire Cat in a few weeks so hopefully I will see an improvement before then.

+1 on those points.
I've been off the bike for 5 weeks due to a back injury in discs l3 and l4 .... The cause more than likely according to my physio is due to poor stretching and lack of flexibility .
I'm now back on the bike but have taken to stretching every day and using a Swiss ball
Better to do a stretching session than and lose one ride a week than not be able to ride bat all0
