i was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen, i started getting some rear wheel juddering when braking, so i took my rear wheel out and one of the pads was rattling about i removed it and the liittle retaining pin was still attached to the pad it has broken off the piston, iv only had them since august, im currently in touch with melrin who i bought them off to try and get it sorted, but i just wanted to see if anyone elase had had the same problem, and if you think its a warranty fix or not. cheers neil.

Maybe I'm just slow today, but you have a set of Hayes Stroker Trail brakes, and the clip has broken off the piston and is still attached to the pad?
The retaining spring is part of the pad, and clips onto the piston.
Could you clarify and type slowly.I don't do smileys.

its the piston that has broken off, on further inspecton whilst packing it up to send back to merlin it looks as though both side have broken off.0
