Conti GP4000 Tubs - what innertubes?

Hi all!

Anyone know what innertubes Conti GP4000 tubs use? Are they butyl or latex?

Not sure but from what I hear that is irrelavant as these tubs can't be repaired.

On another thread(sorry can't find the link atm) someone said they had tried to get them repaired at http://www.tubular-repairs.com/ and was told they can't be done. I find that strange as I use Conti Giros and Sprinters and have no problem doing them myself.

Probably stick to Vittoria Corsa Cx's instead then.

What are the Giro's and Sprinters like?

Giros are fine for training but a bit heavy. Sprinters seem to be the best for low level racing/TTing/cost for me. I was considering some Corsa CX's myself as the next upgrade.

Is repairing tubs difficult to the point of why should I bother or just tricky the first couple of times? Any links to how to?

Not difficult just not a roadside job. Plenty of vid's on YouTube. Takes me about 30 mins to do, maybe an hour in all if you count glueing the backing tape on and then remounting on wheels(I use Jantex tape). One tip, use dental floss as thread for stitching, it pulls through the carcass so much easier.
