Bah humbug. I have only just finished building my winter wheels so I am holding it out for another few months of rotten weather to have made it worth my while.0

Sod that! The winter bike is ready to packed away. The weather's been good enough for the road bike for the last couple of weeks and I'm hoping it's just gonna get better.
A lovely 55 miler around Northants and Beds this morning, sunshine all the way with just a light breeze. Marvellous.0 -
Summer bike out on Sunday. Always a relief that it feels several hundred pounds better than the winter hack. It will be hard to revert to the winter bike if the bad weather comes back!0

You are right it was a lovely day for a ride. Still quite chilly at speed, in the wind, and in the shade. I rode to my mates house for a warm... But his house was bl@@dy freezing. Was glad to get warm on ride back and jump into a warm bath. (note to self Sun does not equal Summer, need more layers!)0

My summer Allez is heavier than the SS but feels lighter :? It is however quicker, must be something to do with the flappy things on the bars and the oily bits on the back wheel. It will be getting more miles on the tyres as I want to do Limeburn hill, going down not up, this week.
I did notice a strange yellow thing in the sky today, can anybody stop me reporting a UFO sighting?I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
Thought I'd stared too long at a light bulb... So that was the sun right?0

Northants was lovely today. Relaxed ride 'round Salcey Forest in the sunshine. The tracks were drying out as I pootled along. Most enjoyable ride this yearThe older I get the faster I was0

Lovely weather today; a pleasure to be unemployed for once and able to take advantage of the free time. I saw:
Baby piglets
A gurning, miserable old get on a lovely GIOS
A toothless simpleton on a BSO... CONTROLLING TRAFFIC! Or trying to.Ben

Very jealous. I miss Bristol scenery for cycling - it takes much longer rides to find anything round here!
Went out and had to do 100 miles to get this shot on Friday:

Actually Pete, those are some lovely piccies. Inspired me to go out for a quick 20 on said wheels, got home just as the light faded so thanks for the post. Hopefully I can pack the tested wheels away now until November but not convinced just yet.
Bradders87, I hate to say it but your picture of some old brown field might not have had the same inspirational effect0 -
It did indeed turn out to be a lovely afternoon, and I went on one of my favourite routes, a 53-mile loop including the Blackdown Hills from Hemyock down to Honiton. I'm afraid I didn't take my camera, as I was too busy cycling furiously, but the views really are like they have in the tourist guides (as per photo below), and it reminds me why I feel so lucky to live in Devon:
Spring is definitely coming!!0 -
A beautiful 67 miler into Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire and back - got all excited that spring had sprung; I really want to swap bibtights/jacket for bibshorts/jersey!2011 Bianchi D2 Cavaria in celeste (of course!)
2011 Enigma Echo 57cm in naked Ti
2009 Orange G2 19" in, erm orange0 -
Great - glad it got people out. Reckon we should all document the occasional ride on here to remind us of this green and pleasant land we call home. Keep this thread alive, at least until the government sell everything off and everything is private property !0

May as well sling one up from last year then
Recognise it Pete?0 -

Yep. I love riding to cheddar. Cake stop. Big climb up and then descend burrington Coombe which is as good as it get going down in the uk. Aside from the 2x cattle grids !0 -

No not me though oddly I did ride through it after a quick 40 miler.
Went out yesterday. Rubbish. Rode like a dead weight but the head wind was insane !0 -

The cattle grids just mark the start and finish of "the race"0
