Have I ordered the right bike?

I just placed an order with Wheelies (insurance replacement) for a Lapirere Spicy 216. Anyone out there with experience on this bike?
I was considering the Commencal Meta 5.5 Pro but didn't want to spend another £200. I imagine the Spicy is a good bike but the Commencal looks sweet and people on here seem to like it a lot.
Was this the right choice? I sure hope so, it looks like a very nice bike.
Many happy trails!

Bit of a pointless question if you've already ordered it. I voted for the Meta just to mess with your head.

    Says the Commencal owner.

The real answer is you f**ked up big style and should have got a Yeti 575. But then everyone's going to tell you that you should have got whatever they've got anyway, that's the internet!

I know, It is a bit pointless I know. Typical reply from you though Cooldad. Cheeky.

Obviously it's too late but why is the Commencal better?

Maybe I could change my mind...

True, everyone will say that unless someone who owns one shows up. I've read some good feedback in another area of bike radar just now. It'll be fine!

Wheelies don't carry the Yeti 575. I could only get what they had and would loose out if I went for cash.

    That is just retarded,

You should have got a WFO!
Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?

Sorry timpop but i'm with cooldad here, i dont see a point to your question since you've already ordered your bike. Unless the shop will let you change your mind ofcourse, but you said you didn't want to spend the extra money anyway.

If your really not sure go and atleast sit on a meta. I drooled over the meta in pics for ages but when i actully saw one in the flesh and tried it out it just didn't feel right for me.

I'm not ging to vote, or mess with your head, just to say that the Spicy is a really nice bike, and you'll love it and I envy the hell out of you.

    Go ride and enjoy it!

    Thanks Simon, I can't wait.

You're right bred2shred, it is pointless as I'm getting it anyway. I had the silly feeling I always get when getting something like a new bike. I've heard it's a nice bike and there's no doubt I'll enjoy it even without a test run. Cooldad is good at stating the obvious without giving any actual feedback. Thanks for yours, I've been drooling to much. Too many bikes.

It's all good. WFO 9 looks very nice but is too expensive.

    Thanks peeps.
    Many happy trails!

In all seriousness they are both bikes that are always at the forefront of everyone's wishlists, test results and reviews so it wouldn't matter which you got. Although I am a Yeti owner I do cast more admiring glances at the Lapierre than I do the Commencal.

Thank you all. They both get good and similar write ups so I'm sure I will enjoy it. I can't wait to get out there and get muddy.
It sure does look good eh.
    Ride on!

The answer is 'YES'. I did make the right choice. This bike rocks!
I've had two rides so far and I'm loving it. It's a very good climber with really good power transfer from feet to wheel. The OST works. I really noticed it working when I put some whellie into it.
The handling is awesome, it's really responsive and tracks very well. It feels great to ride.
    And it looks fantastic.
Can't wait for the next ride.
    Many happy trails!

    Good choice
i would never buy another commencal after cracking a frame on a 12 month old bike
i bought it second hand but was given no help at all
and the cracks were not an isolated event it had happened to stacks of them
    never again :x
