I think you're confusing racing with a Beauty Pageant - no-one cares about your stats, just how fast you go.

Just pick races that suit your strengths - assuming that there are flatter courses near Inverness??

Most amateur racing in the UK is about well built lads bombing around flatish circuits. Far better to have your stats than mine when I was racing: 5'8"/56kg, ie, flyweight.

15.5% body fat is lat the low end of whats considered healthy. you should be in pretty good condition unless you look fat and you have your percentage wrong. how did you measure your body fat ? if you used them scales i would not take the result too seriously as they vary wildly

Don't sound fat too me, almost same figures as mine, although I'm 14 and a half stone. Lots of latent muscle I reckon :D

Do your races, do your best, enjoy them and you will get thinner, faster and fitter as the time goes on (hopefully)

Apologies if my earlier remark was taken the wong way if it is a sensitive subject. Was meant purely in jest.

I was, for a very long tme a very skinny 6'1 ish. Last year I hit 13 1/2 stone ad did have a bit of baggage around the middle so I can empathise. On a positive note though, you can definitely plough through headwinds a lot better with a few extra pounds but the trade off is in the up hills.

    Go race and have fun.
