Screeching freehub - Ksyrium SLs

My freehub has started squealing really badly when I'm freewheeling. Is there anything I can do about this, replace a part or something? The wheels have done 13-15k miles, but the rim isn't too worn, so I'd rather not change them if I can fix it.

I could just remove and grease the freehub, but I feel that's something of a short-term solution.

Any ideas? Thanks

If you take the freehub off and flush it with a copious amount of oil, you may be able to silence it and avoid the self-destruction that otherwise sounds inevitable.

I did mine for the first time last week. 3 winters on the original factory lube I thought was pretty good.

Alternatively, just replace the freehub. They aren't really designed to be serviced anyway. Look on YouTube for a video if at all unsure

There is a plastic bearing in the freehub which I replaced on my Elites. Cost about $5 from the US, not sure if that would be causing your screeching but could be worth a try. If you also have some wobble in the freehub then it is likely this has worn.

I stripped and lubed mine at the beginning of the winter when the same thing happend to mine.

I ride on them regularly and 'touch wood' the sound hasn't comeback.
