Carbon seat post question

I was talking to a mate on yesterdays ride and he mentioned something about needing to use specific clamps for carbon seat posts.

I recently got one and just use a regular hope QR seat clamp.

Does anyone know what my mate was referring to?!

    some makers state you have to use X or Y seat clamp with there frame/seat post.

    try reading the manual that came with the seat post (or downloading it).
