hey all, im hiring a campervan at the end of april and am off to scotland for a few days.
which of the scots trails would you go for?
im thinking 3 days riding centres before going back home.
im more suited to xc and blue/red route level but i will be taking my 2 new custom full sussers with me for a test run 8)
i was thinking glentress and the one next to it... innerliethen?
anyways, which would you lot go for.

You could/can ride both in a day then head over to Dumfries, takes about 1.1/2hrs via the Beef Tub Rd and Moffat.
I am biased towards the Dumfries Stanes, I live in Dumfries.
Here you have more variation in trail styles inc Drumlanrigg.
There is fast`n furious Mabie, Marmite Ae with great wilderness feel and views. Rocky Dalbeattie and the ace in the pack Kirroughtreeanyways, which would you lot go for.0 -
Kirroughtree is superb."Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0

glentress is unmissable, innerleithen if you like a big long climb to start, mabie if you like skinnies and ae if you fancy a light bit of dh!0

i was at Ae last week and i enjoyed it, some of the hills were murder to get up as im not the fittest, took me just over 2 hours to get round, drumlanrig is pretty good but its not one of the 7 stanes0

you say you are more suited to blue/red XC trails... then I would do GT/Inners then perhaps Mabie and Kirroughtree red/black.
If you do decide to hit Kirroughtree then drop me a PM on here and I will endeavour to meet up with you and take you round the Black at a moderate pace... and there is also the famous McMoab section on the Kirroughtree Black.. 8)0 -
