Front wheel problem

I have a 05 mountain bike but since I changed the mechanical discs to hydraulic when I brake sharply the wheel moves within the forks as the dropout gaps are quite big and not snug fitting to the wheel spindle....
The problem has been slightly reduced by buying a better quality quick release lever but is still happening that now and then the wheel will move over enough to rub on inner fork :?
I know if the painted surface of the fork is not faced with facing tool, so the wheel fully tighened does still move when pressure applied to brake sharply, any ideas much appreciated, ???
Cheers Deano

either you are not tightening the Qr correctly or the spokes are lose or the hub is incorrect/in need of a service."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

The wheels are fairly new and been hardly ridden since they were changed, but a local shop said its because the drop out gap very big and should be tighter to spindle.
The original wheels were bolted on and never caused a problem but I wanted Qr wheels for ease of repair etc. when a wheel is placed into drop out gap on most bikes its just big enough to take the spindle snuggly before tightening Q r but on mine the gap is so big you can see a couple of mm play each direction between spindle and drop out gap walls :?0 -
sounds like you are not tightening the qr correctly.
nutted or Qr the hubs are the same width 100mm unless you have a 20mm bolt through (which you dont)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
