Me and friends stopped in a cafe on the way back from bath.
I asked the girl behind the counter for a bacon roll. with a confused look she said "we don't sell bacon rolls, we do have bacon baps though."
my friend decided upon on a hot chocolate with whipped cream, to which the girl then asked how do you put the cream on? um you shake the can a little and squirt it on top!
I had bacon with egg sandwich for breakfast
burger with bacon for lunch
and a bacon roll on the way back.
Sources indicate I'll have bacon for breakfast tomorrow as well

A bread roll is a piece of bread, usually small and round and is commonly considered a side dish.
Bap (often a larger soft roll, roughly 5-6 inches in diameter). Dough can contain fats such as lard or butter to provide tenderness to dough. Can come in multiple shapes dependent on region. Baps as traditionally made in Scotland are not sweet, unlike the Irish version which may contain currants. The 9th Edition of the Concise Oxford Dictionary (1995) says that the word "bap" dates from the 16th century and that its origin is unknown.
Barm or barm cake in Lancashire is a flat, floured, savoury, small bread made using a natural leaven including mashed hops to stop it souring. It is also slang for a bap in the North-West of England.
Obviously the best for bacon being a barm... as they're flat, there is less bread to get in the way of the bacons.0 -
Isn't a bap just sort of a gay roll?Uncompromising extremist0

They are all COBS.You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -

They're muffins. Fact.It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Cobs are crusty rolls I'm sure! They're also a southern thing which I took to Yorkshire with and promptly got shouted at as a kid the first time I went to the new bakers.

FFS! Who cares what the bready part that goes with the bacon's called? It's only window dressing to the awesomeness that is Bacon!0
-
No No no!!! The bread absorbes the fats, adds texture to the gob-full and gives a surface to spread on butter / lard! It's a package of perfection. Don't deny the part the bread plays!0
