help with mmmbop build

hi folks,
I'm hoping someone can helpe me.
I've finally gotten around to putting the finishing touches to my winter build Ragley Mmmbop, and I've come unstuck trying to sort the gear cable routing.
It's my first build attempt in years and I'm having trouble keeping the gear cable outers in the stops on the frame.
For those that know the frame has bolt on cable/hose clips and the problem is once I've routed them and tightened up the inners at the derailleurs, the outers pop out of the clips when I shift through the gears.
I'm hoping someone can help me cos it's doing my nut in and I'm about 5 minutes away from lobbing it at the wall

Hi
I've just completed mine last week, not sure what you mean by inners and outers , could you be a bit more specific?Ragley mmmBop

Its the gear cable outer running from the shifter into the first bolted cable clip on the top tube of the frame, it comes undone when shifting into a higher gear.
I'm sure its just me doing something stupid but I can't figure out what I'm missing :?0 -
Surely your outer gear cable should not move when you shift gears?
Could it be popping out because there is not enough give in the cable when you turn the bars and it is pulled out as you steer, or maybe the cable is too tight and is trying to find the shortest route between two points and taking the cable with it?
To be honest, I would check that the cable is running smoothly through the piping and go from there.
Are you using the clip designed for the three cables? Mine tightened right up and there was no way a cable could pop out...
Hope you get it sorted because this is an awesome bike, I had it out in anger today and was easily keeping up with guys on orange 5's (well, not on the uphill but that says more about my engine that the bike..) :oops:Ragley mmmBop
