Hi,
I am confused (doesn't take much I know) looking at the Garmin 800gps performance bundle and performance and navigation bundle.
What exactly are you getting for the extra £40?
I understand they both have heart rate monitor, cadence monitor and gives you details of your position, route etc.
Interested in one of these but I don't know which one?
Cheers

you get an additonal, more detailed map on an SD card with the nav bundle is my understanding. I may be wrong0

That is my understanding but can't work out exactly what it is? What differerence does it make and is it worth the extra cost?
Thanks for the reply0 -
the performance and navigation bundle comes with City Navigator Europe NT on microSD™ card - which is very detailed.
if you go for the performance bundle, or just the single device, you do not get this sd card, and will only have the base maps - which as i understand is only of any use if you ride on motorways (ie barely any mapping of smaller roads).
both performance, and perfomance & navigation come with the cadence and HRM.
hope this helps.
ps worth while reading this:

That's true, but "City Navigator" is a bit of a misnomer IMHO. I'd say that the base maps just give you your position, on a map that's none too detailed whereas the City Navigator package that comes for the extra cash gives you exactly the same sort of 'turn by turn' navigation that you would expect when using SatNav in a car.0

Thanks for the replies and le_boss thank you for the link.
Very informative, looks like I will be going for the performance and navigation bundle, sounds like it is worth the extra cost.
This has sorted out my lack of knowledge in this area, it's all quite new to me, I have just used a distance, speed etc cateye up to now.
GPS 800 looks very good.

OP wiggle have 20% off the 800 (and other gps) this weekend!0

Have a look around, different mapping is available in different bundles, some have discoverer 1:50k orndnace survey style mapping very useful for off road mtb riding, eg http://www.madison.co.uk/homePage.aspx , which is the only one i've seen bundling the 1:50 with HR and cadence monitoring
others come with european street mapping0
