I cannot take credit for this build, however I am now the proud owner of what I think is one of the most beautiful bikes ever made. This classic piece is a mix of Campag Record and Chorus and the only thing that I have changed since the photos were taken is that I have changed to a set of Campag Wheels built on Record Hubs.

I hope to rebuild the whole bike so that it is a full Record Grouppo but unfortunately money is halting my progress. I hope you like the bike and enjoy the pictures.

Very nice indeed. Glad you changed the wheels  Complements your De Rosa nicely. Will she get much of a look in riding wise?

I have just built up one of the new Ribble Sportives with Ultegra and Fulcrum Racing 3's. I also have a steeel framed Colnago Superissimo with polished lugs and Campag Chorus. She is gorgeous but I fear she won't get much of a look in now :? Shame. Maybe save for special occasions?
  • ermm,,,what's with the single sided bar taping?

and i agree, looks lovely next to the De Rosa!

I don't usually like vintage bikes but I'm making yours an exception.

Sadly I am aiming to keep her as simply a collectors piece and I hope to add to her in the near future. I must say I would absolutely love a Colnago, its just a matter of waiting on the correct one.

I have my eye on a Tomassini Track Frame, but its crazy money and so I am just gonna have to wait and see.

The bike may get a run out at next years "Eroica" Providing I have the legs for it.

This was a photo taken before the bike was fully assembled, if you notice, the cables are also not complete in the picture. She is now fully built with the Campag wheels and I think it does look better.

    Thanks for the compliment

Can I ask where you managed to get hold of your Campagnolo cable stops from, on the downtube? I'm trying to get hold of a pair but can't source any!!

    Thanks

Sorry Rich, I bought the complete bike and so I'm afraid I can't help you. The one thing I will say is that, the guy that I bought it off seems to specialise in NOS parts and especially Campy, so I can get in touch with him for you if you wish?

Followed your advice and found the resin ones on Campyoldy, thanks. No sign of the alloy ones though.
